It’s Not That Deep (but it is) is an audio project created by 5 students from the temporary master program Blacker Blackness at the Sandberg Institute in Amsterdam (2022).  It’s an exploration into Afrodiasporic Spiritualities from our personal experiences. 

The project started out as a curiosity into each other's background and relation to spirituality. We started by each recording soundbites about what comes up for us when we think about spirituality in general. We then made recording sessions where we listened to the recordings and responded to them. This resulted in raw and unedited soundbites where we discussed everything from religion, to multiverses, to identity and ancestry.  The website became a way for us to archive all these conversations and collect references and images connected to each episode.
